As engineers, we understand the technology behind lighting and work in partnership with interior designers and architects to allow them the freedom to create a lighting language that fits their client’s brand aspirations.

Consultancy - Compact Lighting can work with the designer during the initial stages of a concept or proposal to give technical assistance and advice on systems and budgets. We can also help the designer in situations where they have inherited a lighting scheme from a client and want to incorporate changes to make it their own. Occasionally, this involves subtle changes in product output, while in other cases it’s a complete scheme rethink.

Consultancy comes in different forms, depending on need. For example, a client may require advice on the current legislation regarding cabling systems. Another client, with branches all over the world, may need us to assemble a lighting specification of different products, with matched voltages, so that purchases can be made locally without loosing the integrity of the design. Often clients require retro-fitting of new technology to existing systems, either to save energy or solve reliability problems, using alternative lamp technology.

Evaluation - By using our custom lighting software, we can evaluate a designer’s scheme, showing how the proposed lighting levels will actually appear in the different areas of their interior, offering suggestions for improvements where necessary.

Control - The designer may use us to coordinate the management of procurement and installation. The designer logs on to our project management website to track the delivery progress of products for their current scheme, as well as review previous schemes - with quotations and codes displayed for reference.
