Compact Lighting worked with London designers, Found Associates, to help the company realise their new concept for Clarks Shoes, who were targeting a younger demographic. We engineered all of the lighting, as well as developing Clarks’ signature ‘Ghost’ cube - a continuous soft glow of light running the length of the store, encouraging customer pull-through. Shelving systems were also developed with integral lighting, giving prominence to the product and making it the ‘Hero’. A small mock-up, created on Clarks’ premises, solved initial teething problems before four stores were fitted-out and tested, prior to roll-out across the country. Found Associates’ design and Compact Lightings’ engineering have shown this scheme to be very robust over time, with little modification since its inception in 2004. Light has been used effectively to express the content and value of the Clark brand, building recognition.
